    Exclamation Tinted Visors...

OK Tinted Visors, whats the Skinny?

As a personal preference I like using them... (though I always carry a spare clear one for night riding or inclement weather!)

But I've just had a shed load of grief about my dark visor from a colleague.

Whats your preference...? Anyone ever had any trouble from the Rozzers about using one...? (I haven't!)

    Thanx

Dont like wearing sunglasses they give me headaches so tinted rather than blind helps me stay alive.

I recently bought a schuberth R1 with an intergrated tinted visor that flips up and down with the flick of the wrist, no more headaches for me ( apart from trying to decide which tyres to go for next ). I bought the helmet off ebay from a german firm, it cost me 370 euros including p&p and arrived in two days, that was better than any uk firm.

I got an integrated flipdown tinted visor in my Caberg it's fine as long as the main visor isn't covered in crap like it was this morning then I can't see anything.

In the summer I do use sunglasses because the flipdown visor seems to blow air into my eyes if I leave the main visor up

    Re: Tinted Visors...

I place tinted visors in the same league as as tinted windows on cars, or sunglasses indoors - strictly for tossers who think hiding their face makes them cool. The safety argument is a crock too, if you want to avoid being dazzled simply put a strip of insulating tape along the top of your visor.

OK, I accept that car drivers using tinted windows are the greatest tossers (if you can't see the driver you cannot tell if (s)he's even looked in your direction or is busy on the 'phone) but you guys with the tinted visors ain't far behind.

There, that's that off my chest. Now for the blizzard of abuse.

    Re: Tinted Visors...

I have a matt black peaked motocross style helmet WITH a dark visor (and a clear visor) and i feel cool as f***!!! And i'm not trying to hide my face cos i have a lovely face! I wear my helmet because it works a treat in the sun, looks good is very comfortable and i think it's ace! I also have a Caberg which also think is ace! And i'm not a tosser, i'm ace with TWO ace helmets!
P.S. Studies have shown that people put other people down for doing what they want to do because they are insecure and dare'nt do it themselves. True.
Go on, live a little. Buy a dark visor, you know you want to.
