    Dual sport/ enduro helmets

Or what ever you want to call em

I want one that, the visor flips up far enough so that i can use goggles when i get to the mud (without having to remove it).

How noisy are they really? ( am using a BMW s5 helmet now which is very quiet)
What experience do you guys have and what do you suggest?
at this stage price is not in the equation.. I want to see what is available then i will decide what I can pay...

Lots of threads on this subject. Try this one for starters:

    arai tour x

    and this one:

    new "dual purpose" type helmet
It's not the age, it's the mileage...

Mmmm, I've got an ARAI Tour Cross - nice luminous yellow/black job and loverly it is too. 'D' ring fastening though which can be a pain in gloves and it has vents on the top that can get sucked open at speed - they whistle and cause a lot of wind noise. The peak also gets grabbed quite badly if you move out from the hole in the air made by the screen. It IS very comfortable though and has all the usual removable bits - with the extra of having separate washable 'Cool-Max' covers on each pad, (but, these are easily snagged and the ones near the neck have gotten all bobbly from catching the neck Velcro on my jacket and from me not shaving at weekends....) Overall though a cracking lid that looks right on a bike like the @ - normal lids don't go with the style of bike to me.........

But, quiet it ain't! Its definitely quieter than my Thor MX but only just. The visor does go up quite high but I don't reckon any of my goggles would go on it comfortably.

It's not something I've thought of, but I can test it out at the weekend when the lid and my goggles are in the same place.........

    3 TLD's done, (2009 + 2010 + 2011) - bring on 2012

When they kick at your front door How you gonna come?
With your hands on your head Or on the trigger of your gun
When the law break in How you gonna go?
Shot down on the pavement Or waiting on death row?.............

I've got the tour cross 2 and I don't find it that comfortable, it is very noisy, you don't get a quick release visor and it also lets in a bit of water in heavy rain, all things that my previous arais (NRs) were very satisfactory for.
I can't see you being able to use any goggles that I've seen, the visor just doesn't go up far enough.

That said the peak is great for the sun and even keeps a measure of the road spray muck off my visor. And it doesn't fog up very easily, although my other arais were almost as good.

I have yet to recommend it to anyone. I met a fella with the HJC version and he loves it but I found it very uncomfortable.
