I believe that they test helmets to a certain standard for the benefit of insurers having a minimum standard to base their "racer's" premiums on. This does not mean that these are the best standards to look for to gauge what protection your head gets.
They also only cost £1 per lid, for manufacturers.
Personally, I would look for a Ride magazine report. I think they are quite thorough. Otherwise, I spend as much as I can on a decent manufacturer. I have a £130 HJC moto-X, yes, but I also own, and mostly wear, a high-end Arai. And this I bought for the confidence I have in it. The HJC was for my trips abroad, where I can get a camera to my eye without removing the lid all the time!!![]()
Possibly, so don't buy one from 'onest John down the road, if your local dodgy dealer tries to sell you an egg box with an ACU sticker on it report him to the Trading Standards and then tell me why you were even in that shop to start off with.
Yes you (mostly) get what you pay for at the lower end of the market, if it's too cheap to be true, it probably isn't.
what size are you mate ive got a spare lid that could get you out of the **** for a while![]()
Despacio. Hay m'as tiempo que vida
Hey "lucky" look on the bright side, if you got it off the net you would have had to pay around a tenner extra for delivery and you wouldn't have been able to try it on, the size/ fit varies a lot from one make to another, so you really need to make sure it fits properly before you buy.
