My Caberg flip top was about £120 there were lots of others under that where I bought it at Bike Gear UK, there was a website by it doesn't seem to be working.

It's worth going into your local bike shop and looking to see what deals are around after christmas you may well get last years stock a bit cheeper than usual

Absolutely the Caberg flip front which comes in at 100 pounds. A very good helmet even if it were twice the price.

Dont be fooled into assuming that the more you pay the better you're buying.

PS Who said it's not a lot of money? I think it is!

You want to head to one of the big shows. You missed the NEC. Fantastic selection there, and all of it cheap.

KBC are almost replicas of Shoeis (been to court in Japan for copying) and Marashuin are always bigging themselves up as being as good as the big expensive names, plus some pretty good graphics.

IMHO as well as fit/comfort find out about how noisy the lid is. TAs and ATs (AFAIK) are noisy bikes and the helmet can make a big difference.

Personally I have a Shoei - so don't listen to me, but at £200 and 2.5 years/50K miles it is still in good nick and should last another 2-3 years.
2001 Transalp XLV650. Faithful old friend still chugging away nearly 100,00miles
2007 Varadero XLV1000. Now you're torquing but sadly gone to another forum member. One of the best bikes - period.
Yamaha XT660r - slowly getting it ready for some big adventures

Use a v. cheap MX lid, goggles, and replace it every year. Even realy low speed knocks still cause damage, its my way of better safe than sorry.

The lids need to be ACU approved, but you can pick them up from about £40, goggles from sort of £25, but they last for ages with care.

How much is your safety worth?

Buy a helmet that fits well, and cost should be the least of your worries.

Personally, I spend all I can afford when I buy one.
