    Schuberth S1 Anyone?

Has anyone got one of these?
I have just bought one from a german company www.fc-moto.de as I've always fancied the quietness this model is supposed to be the most quiet tested, plus they are discounted to €300. Also the built in shades look good and I'm a fan of built in anti-fog.
    cheers

    Re: Schuberth S1 Anyone?

I've got one and it's a superb helmet. Very quiet, light wight, comfortably tight fitting, vents that work and the sun visor is really useful. It's very easy to get the lining out to wash it - useful after I went through a big muddy puddle while playing on Salisbury Plain, and the bow wave went up over my head and into my open visor!

The anti-fog coating on the visor works about as well as anyone elses (ie. not at all!!) and starts to crack and peel around the edges almost straight away. I swapped my first visor when I discovered this but didn't bother when the 2nd visor did exactly the same. I tried a pin-lock insert (had to drill the visor to fit the pins) which worked fairly well but to be honest the helmet is so well sealed - to keep the noise level down - that now I just put the visor up one click when town riding and put it down fully when riding at speed.

I love my S1 and would definitely buy another when the time comes. The other day I was looking for a new helmet to keep as as a spare and I tried on a Lazer like the one I used to have and it felt like wearing a cardboard box in comparison.

    You made a good choice

Cheers thanks for that - put my mind at ease and now I'm really looking forward to getting it.
I think that the S1 is discounted at the moment possibly due to an upcoming model change but colours/sizes are limited so if anyone wants one cheap hurry up
