There appears to be a distinct lack of appropriate testing for helmets these days, it used to be easy, you just got one with the BS kitemark and that was it, now like many BS's that have been made lowest common denominator BS EN's for the Euro market it's a bit useless, the ACU Gold approval seems to be the best your going to get in the abcense of a "real" regulatory test.

The same debate goes on in all motorsports, but rally drivers have the Snell, which is suposed to be better, same goes in horse riding, although they do have a decent BS for riding hats.

Sooooo, don't buy an ultra cheapo with no BS or ACU and don't buy one that's mega-bucks because it's got a pretty pattern on it or some Italian's signature

Glad to see Raven's been paying attention in class make sure the damned thing fits properly, or it won't work no matter how much you paid for it, we've all got different heads, so what's good for one isn't going to neccesarilly be good for someone else.
