    Hi zxtrevr
What about the new Givi x-plus? It looks the buisness, has loads of visability, which lets face it we all need these days.
It is over your budget though, as the clip says "around £150. I have surfed but can't find one yet at that price, but will be having a pair when I can find somewhere locally to try on.

    Re: flip front helmets

Not had any others but I did enjoy using the Nolan when I tried it but it just didn't fit my 'john merick'

The flip down dark visor thing is to me a great function of any of the helmets so should be on the tick list but check out how much a replacement would be just in case it gets scuffed. at most visors hitting nearly £40 it would hurt to have to do both at that cost.

Advise I would give anyone for any helmet is get a pin-lock visor for the insert. It is the best £15 you will ever spend on a bike for wet weather /winter riding! and don't settle for a helmet fit if it feels like it puts any pressure on your forhead. If it does even slightly in the shop you will suffer after about an hour!

    Just a few thoughts.

I have been looking at the new one and like the look of it too. Not seen one to try on yet but will be doing as soon as I see one. Looks nice eh?

Think the schubert is supposed to be the quietest on the market and has really good padding. Fits me great and I would have one except my Jimmy Hill is pressing against the chin bar!

Think I'll give up and just wait until someone brings out a range called 'Freak Fit'

I have the Nolan n102 which cost £175 with all the extras two years ago.
It has an external sun visor, instead on the N103 it is internal. I do prefer the full face helmets.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Very true. My helmet fogs up even when it's not cold due to not getting any windblast onto the vents. Tried every fog cure going and while some of them worked fine on my old bike without a windscreen, nothing worked on the africa twin.

Finally tried a pinlock and was amazed at how well they work, not a bit of fog no matter how hard I breathe, no matter what the conditions.

I'll never buy a helmet again without a pinlock.

Use a Caberg flip myself.. got it mainly for the flip down internal sun visor..

Used flips though for many a year and found them invaluable when I used to courier..

    hi nomad
i had one of the first in the country, i think its great except for the visor mech, has yours ever come out of the side rail when you try to lift the visor? its not easy to bring your bike to a safe stop with a visor in your left hand........
