    Helmet (Peaked)

Hi Guys, I'm looking for advice on a new helmet. I'd like a full face with a peak to give some sun shade, just worried that the peak will drag a lot, bearing in mind the dommie wind chill factor. Don't want to pay more than about £150.

    Advice anyone?

I've recently bought an Airoh S4 from DirtBikeExpress following recommendations on this forum:

They list them on eBay although I phoned my order through. Shop around and you can pick them up for the £100 to £110 mark.

Initial impressions are it's light, comfortable, has a great field of view. I usually go for Shoei lids and the S4 doesn't feel as solid but it's pretty good for the price. It's comfortable with shades or glasses too and the wind doesn't try to rip your head off when you look over your shoulder at speed.

The only downside I can see is it's not a particularly quiet lid at speed - although I am comparing it to a Shoei Interceptor which has to be one of the quietest on the market.

I haven't tried it in torrential rain so hopefully someone who has had one a bit longer can add to my comments

Hi , i'm wearing this new HJC for offroading at the moment doesn't seem to steam up very badly cost £90. CAn remove the visor and wear googles if you wish or remove the peak fit the side plates and wear it as a full face lid. Only thing i do find fidly until you get used to it is the double d's are are bit small other than that a good lid for the money i thought about about the shoei Hornet and Aria Tourx but couldn't justify stupid money for a offroad lid

    Re: Helmet (Peaked)

wow I always thought full face peaked helmets were alot more expensive. I struggle because I have goggles which make it tricky wearing glasses underneith. Think its about time I get myself one.

One thing I have found though is that even though my helmets fits well it moves alot when I check my blind spot on the motorway or at speeds of over 60mph (due to the peak and mouth piece drag). To help stop this I've got a free balaclava which came free with fast bike mag a few months back and this helps stop it move around so much. Its very thin and breathable so it doesn't get hot and has the added bonus of cutting down on my insect intake! I'm sure you can buy them in most bike places. There very thin but work pretty well
