I had a fog city in my shoei helmet seemed ok no major problems with it. It lasted about 2 years i just ripped it off and am considering putting a pinlock insert in it but cant decide if i want to drill through the visor, may just get another fog city. I did notice when cleaning it you had to use a realy soft cloth as it would scratch quite easily

I use to have the Fog City Hyperoptics insert in my old AGV helmet which took some getting used to with it turning blue in bright sunlight but meant I never had to carry a spare visor or sunglasses so well worth the money. Unfortunately I can’t fit one to the HJC visor since it is already supposedly a anti-fog visor.

I bought a HJC CL-XS the road / offroad one that also came with the antifog visor coating but it didn't seem to last long.

I went to the MPH show at the NEC and bought some miracle potion to stop visors steaming up called " the pink stick" like a lipstick you polish it on then polish it off £6. Seems to work for a while at least a few days only use it on my offroad helmet though

I tend to use Rainex or car wax on the visor. Not ideal but solves the problem for a few days before it needs recoating.

Is the rainex the one in the yellow bottle ?? if it is how do you apply it and is it any good as i though that was used to help water bead off glass and plastic didn't know it can be used as an anti fog

Umm, I'm puzzled. Critch asked if someone would measure the width and height. Five responses but no measurements yet. Am I missing something?

    Re: Fog City Visors

Last time I was in hein gericke they had some other brand of stick on double glazing visor that looked exactly like pinlock. In fact it might have been pinlock brand too. I asked for my sons helmet - a shark and they said they were a univrsal fit. Can't see it on their website though.

There's a bit of info on size here http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcyc...ty-progrip.htm about a third of the way down

It doesn’t work greatly as any fog but it's better than nothing on the inside since the supposed anti-fog coating stopped working long ago. But it's quite effective to help rain blow of the visor above 30mph.

    Re: Fog City Visors

Sorry, no measurements here as I dont have one anymore.....

however I wouldnt recommend one for the following reason... they work only for a period of time... and when you try to replace it, it leaves all its glue on the inside of your visor... try the Pinlock universal, even if the coverage isnt better (dont know) it is more replaceable and easier to work and maintain.

Side note - ive got the Fog City tinted visor strip on the top of my visor, its a 1inch deep strip used to keeping the low sun out of your eye. I just slipped it inside the Pinlock visor so I dont have to stick it in and can remove it anytime. Excellent product. Used it all winter even during the short days, great in mornings, never bothers me at nite, infact its great for blocking car headlights on single carriageways.
