if carling made a learner bike........

i know its if carlsberg but hey mines only a baby vara!!!!!
i started 'learning' about six month ago when i got my first bike which was a honda cb125td-c but soon found it too small for a 6'2 overweight coffee slurping smoker.some riders dream of getting their knee's down on those fast corners,i could get my cheeks down!
so i started looking for a bike that was big enough for me to ride and not look like i was on a kiddies ride.a friend had an old dt which i liked the look at so i was heading down that route on my quest for a good learner (cb125td-c was good in its day).
one day while slurping coffee at oasis cafe in scarborough's north bay one of the local cbt schools turned up.mainly little scooters spitting blue smoke out which looked funny parked next to the rest of the bikes there (r1's.gsxr's etc) and then just as i was about to have another slurp on my coffee the instructor pulled in on a 07 plate vara 125.he parked it next to a r1 and it didn't look out of place at all,in fact it was taller and around the same lenth and what a bike!!!!
i started looking for a vara 125 and soon found they go for good money.i wanted a new ish bike, low miles, good condition, service history etc etc but only had £1800 to play with.this had to inc ins, tax, test if needed and any repairs.not much to ask!
after about 2 months of looking i saw one on ebay that fit the bill.it is an 06 and had everything i wanted.i got it for £1700 with a years tax.the ins was only £103 tpf&t so i think i been lucky with that one.

    Welcome to the Forum, PAR.
The Baby Vara is a cracking little bike.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE
