Welcome to the madhouse
there are more than enough here with the experience to help, are you only breaking down in the rain what are the full symptoms
check your sparkplug caps for damage and the rest will advise you better
Thanks guys. My bike seems to be poorly in the rain. Symptoms are: needs a lot of encouragement to start, then runs on a full choke. I leave it to warm up for a few minutes, then reduce the choke, hop on and drive away. It feels a bit sluggish, before conking out about 1/2 mile away. After this it starts but will only idle on a full choke - the slightest input from the throttle makes it conk out. At this point I normally swear a lot, and push the bike (uphill) back home. I have just added a fuel cleaner to a full tank of petrol, but it's only really ran fo a few miles since I added it, so it won't have made a difference yet. Just bought it from a reputable fim who gave me a three month warranty so thinking about dropping it in tomorrow, if it's dry.
Possibly dirt in the floatbowl blocking the jets, or jets just gunged up with petrol residue. if its has a warranty just take it in.
Oh, and welcome to the site.![]()
Thanks for the warm welcome, guys.
Don't think the baby vara needs a pump - it just takes tny sips of fuel. Even less than that in the wet!
