    Hello from Dave

    Hello,

Just bought a new Transalp 700, had it about a week. I live in the North East near Newcastle but at the coast, so have been running it in along some of my favourite coastal routes.

The Transalp is great, as the miles are going on I'm getting to use a bit of that loverly torque. The only thing is the salt is starting to appear so plenty hosing down is needed (the bike).

Great site lots of information - it helped me make up my mind on this bike.

Welcome to the site - you're in good company here. As regards salt (and the winter in general) ACF50 is your friend. It's quite expensive, but VERY good.

Hello and welcome to the forum, Dave.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

If corrosion is a problem then Corrosion X is THE best gear I have found. Go to http://www.corrosion-x.co.uk/ It is superb. I ride alon the beaches here in The Gambai and it just keeps salt away - quick hose down at the end of a ride is all that's needed - inject it into the frame if you have any open holes and it just stays there
