Bon jour, Monsieur! You too, I have the 08 plate and just run 1.6k on her from new. Going well and looking forward to the SS1000 challenge at the end of December.
Had a ETV 1000 before the Vara but that was taken before her time by a car driver eating a pasty! Court date set for 19th Jan 09 undue care and attention, happy new year Biatch.
Looking forward aslo to seeing what ride outs are going on around UK and Europe via this forum. Sweet deal, givi box, passport, credit card, bike...job done![]()

I have not seen the longest day as of yet but will go and have a look at it. Sounds like great fun if it means you get to play on the bike all day long!!
Looking around for what the 'Lomgest Day' is and what is getting done. I did find a thread sticky and so on but that just tells me about tshirts and the like. Anyone know where the post is out what the event is, how to join in, when it happens etc?
Cheers
The 2008 longest day was John O'groats to Lands End on the longest day (21st June). Threads tended to get a bit hijacked and wander off topic but its all here http://www.xrv.org.uk/forums/longest-day-past-charity-rides/ Also over £15K raised for charity. It was great.
2009 event looks like being "5 Capitals", again all in one day on or very close to June 21st. 5 Capitals means visiting London, Cardiff, Dublin, Belfast and Edinburgh - and I think that's the planned order. Hopefully we will get some discount from one of the ferry companies and no doubt as plans emerge more infor will be available about overnight stays etc. Threads .... End to end 2009 and
What did we decide for TLD 2009 ??
2001 Transalp XLV650. Faithful old friend still chugging away nearly 100,00miles
2007 Varadero XLV1000. Now you're torquing but sadly gone to another forum member. One of the best bikes - period.
Yamaha XT660r - slowly getting it ready for some big adventures
Ah many thanks Austin, now that does sound like a fun day out indeed!
