    New Transalp

Just bought a 2000 TA from a friend that was about to trade it in. Put a new battery on and it runs fine. Seems some dullard has wired the heated grips straight to the battery and I picked it up the day the snow started!!!

    Hi Nick and welcome.

Heated grips - good. Direct wiring - bad!

Lucky for me mine came with pre-fitted grips which was cunningly wired in to the cooling fan circuit. Good thinking that man!
I'm on the Safe House List
03 TA Blue, Givi bars, centre stand, Givi Pannier racks, heated grips, MRA Vario - smooth!

    Also 4x4 with a towbar - and a trailer!

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Heated grips wired direct to the battery, as they should be.
I fitted a relay on mine so the ignition kills them if left on, so no drain when the bike is not in use.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE
