    Post First Timer

    Hello All,

First time on any kind of forum, just got my first transalp on a 02 plate as the electrics on my daytona didn't survive the winter. I've wanted one for years and should have done it sooner.

Does anyone else have carb freezing problems or is it just the extreme cold we've had lately?

    Waldo

Hi Waldo. Welcome to the forum.

Not exactly an all weather biker myself, so haven't noticed an icing problem. Just a thought though, the TA carbs are heated. Worth checking to see if the wiring is OK?

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I know the carbs on the V4's are fitted with heaters, but I am not sure about the earlier bikes.

Welcome Waldo, as a relative newbe myself and the 1st forum site I've ever been on too, you'll get some great advice and find some very helpful people, so i'm sure one of them will be able to help with your problem, I'm afraid i can't as my aging beast doesn't have anything so sophisticated as heated anything, but she's mine and i love her.

    Hi Waldo

If your bike is a pukka UK version then it should have carb heaters - according to the Haynes manual anyway.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?
