New Biker-prob gonna get a Honda Dominator

Hi all Martin here, newbie to the biking game and very soon to be the proud owner of either a Domi or a Transalp which I'm very excited about! I'm English through and through but I live and work and Switzerland so looking forward to doing a bit of touring.

Hi Martin , I am Kiriakos from Greece , looks that we did our first posts at the same time.

I have one AX-1 Honda 250 , since 1993 , those Dominators , small or normal sizes , they do hook you for good , as soon you got one .

Just be careful if you get one , to be in good condition, Honda never had parts at cheap.

    Take care .

Hello and welcome to the forum.
I would think the Transalp is a better choice for touring..

I have one so may be biased.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Thanks for the replies guys I've heard a lot that the Transalp is a better tourer-but sadly it's at a dealer and is more than twice the price of the Domi! Still-something to bear in mind if the Domi doesn't work out for whatever reason...cheers guys

Test it well , before handing over the cash .

    That my advice .

Both Domi & Transalp , shares high price tag parts .

    Check everything ...

Well, I saw the Domi yesterday and tested it properley...starts well, sounds great and was serviced only 3000k's ago-the oil is still as clean as a whistle. The brakes are good and the chain is in much better condition than the Transalp I found, plus the Domi has done considerably less mileage. All the buttons and lights are in good working order...I think we have a winner Cheers for the support from you all, I will uploading pictures soon!

Hi there, I rekon the Dommi will suit you just fine. Theres a lot on here that will say the extra cylinder of stuff like a TA is the only way to go but a single does it just fine and is far more fun, al be it slower on the motorways. But looking at where you live, the Dommi will be a hoot, go for it
