Finally made it to this forum

    Hi @ all !!

Allow me to introduce myself here in this cool forum. Iīm Blacksonja from Germany. Excuse me, if I sometimes write something not quite right and correct me if neccessary, unfortunately my English is not as good as Iīd like it to be. I found my way to this page by mention of a member of a german forum site.

Now, what can I tell you about me? I am driving a Honda FX650 Vigor with 39HP. It is not my first bike, but my most beloved. In my jounger days (before I had my drivers license) I often drove motorbikes cross country with my friend. He had different machines such as two old BMWs, one 250ccm and one 600ccm from the Bundeswehr. Further a 50ccm Zündapp and a 250ccm Montesa Cross-competition bike. In lack of licenses (we were both 14 and 15 years old), we drove only on private ground away from all streets. As he was 16, he bought a XL 185. There I found my love to trail bikes. Later my friend bought a Honda NX 650 Dominator, which he still owns.

After I was eightteen and owner of my drivers license, by and by I had several bikes like a Zündapp 100, a Honda CB 200, and a Honda XL 125. The last three years I owned a Kawasaki Eliminator 252. It wasnīt a bad bike, had a very good engine, but I didnīt like the handling in curves and on loose ground. I was frustratet, wishing to own a trail bike but i am not tall enough to handle it secure in heavy traffic (Iīm only 1,58m tall). I dreamed of a bike, so easy to handle like my long gone XL 125, but with the power of the Dominator. Damned, it had to be a Enduro or nothing!

It was my brother (he really knows ALL bikes, especially Hondas) who gave me the right idea. "Look for a Vigor", he said, "they are not so high and heavy, but have the 650erNX motor". In space of two weeks the Elli was sold and there stood a "new" (used) FX 650 in my garage. My dream had come true. Found one in my surrounding (only 40km away), she was in very well conditions, had only some more than 5500km and was not too expencive.

Now I posess her since four month (September and October 2008 and since March 2009) and drove much more kilometers than with my Elli in three years. Oh godess, it is so much fun with the FX, I really love this bike.

Oh ... I spoke a litte to much, didnīt I? Think Iīd stop here and wait for your comments. Hope I did not bore you too much. Like to be here

    Kind regards,

    Sonja

    Welcome to the site, Sonja.

Your English is fine - much better than my German.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

    Thanks for the greetings!

To Snaphappy: It was a small notice about a technical problem and the writer pointed to this forum. I donīt know if and I donīt think that he is a member, but Iīm not sure. Sadly you live pretty far away from me...

Iīd like to know who from you drives a FX 650 too and her/his experiences with her. In my opinion she could sound a little bit --- hmm --- not really louder, but deeper, fuller, simply more than it does now. Has anyone an idea, in which area (inside the exhaust silencer) I`drill an bit, so the sound comes better. But it should not be too much, and not be seen from the outside.

And can anyone tell me how to create a remark under the articles like you all have? I donīt find the way to do so.

I think you must be referring to the Signatures.
You need to subscribe for that function.
To modify the silencer you may have to find if the centre core is riveted to the outer.
