Post Honda Clone repair manual ?

Hi w.w.w.,
I'm from the NY,NJ,PA area 50 + yrs., 30 yrs. auto mechanic 40 yrs. dirt & street bike riding.Urban, rural, beach and now mountain and forest trails.I've come to find out my 2008 200cc Chinese Jetmoto Honda clone is copied off an XL from the 1980's possibly the 1990's depending on which Honda and from what part of the world. That's why I'm here because this 200cc street legal enduro was ie: different in Australia vs Japan or the U.S. I've read.My mechanical problem is that I have a bad starter clutch (electric start of course)lol And there are numerous repair manuals for the 200cc Honda desert, trials, racing enduro, dual purpose etc...I can't find a diagram or breakdown of this motor.I know the Chinese are notorious for mixing different years and brands to make their bikes. And I don't know what counry or year this Honda is cloned from? So heres the specs. The company in San Francisco that imports them said to use a 125-200cc Xl,XR,TLR repair manual but provided no year or range of years aand there is a whole slew of them!!.They stopped selling my bike in Cali. because it's the only state it can't be street legalized so they don't even service them.I had mine the last one in the U.S.their showroom model shipped to me on the east coast.
Engine: 200cc 4 stroke air cooled
Fr. tire: 2.75 21" 6PR
Rear tire: 4.1 18" 6PR
Ignition: CDI electric start
Monoshock
Seat Height 35"
Transmission: 5 SPEED w/electronic digital display
Weight: 285 lbs. (heavy I know)
Ground Clearance: 13.5 inches
Bore X Stroke: 63.0 X 43.0
Front & Rear Disc Brakes
Steel Braided brake lines
Wet Multi-Plate Clutch
Compression ratio: 9.7:1
Dimensions: (inches) 84.3" X 33" X 46.5"
So if ANYONE knows what HONDA this is close to or is HELP! Remember 200cc,5sp.,electric start PEACE ON WEB

Welcome to the forum.
That sounds like a question which would be better in the XL Forum as it may get a better viewing.

Re: Honda Clone repair manual ?

hi, welcome aboard.
is you bike overhead cam or push rod type? that is crucial as they are different motors and the chinese copied both, even used in the same bikes.

Question Re: Honda Clone repair manual ?

WHOOPS! overhead cam And my chinese owners and parts manuals which are not my exact bike but a GY200 mines a RR200 is full of misspelings ie:tramsduler(transducer),tranimission, ringht(righ t),timeing, driveing, bearring, carburator, deffector( deflector),turnign(turning)etc...lol help! I won't even get into the grammar usage but,I sure don't know chinese except for reading english menus.OK here goes: It states it's 196.38 ci. displacement "Based on the Hongda (HONDA) DJ 156FMI engine".HOWEVER the next paragraph states:READY for this? "For sake of customers' convenience,we painstakingly compile the {PARTS CATALOGUE FOR 125GY} Help me, it's a catalogue for a 200 GY?? And the rest of the paragraph doesn't make any sense grammar wise,so I'll leave it out. ie: endusers can easily grasp characteristics of 125GY WANNA BET?!!...WTF is an enduser??? So you get the picture why I'm frustrated.

Re: Honda Clone repair manual ?

if your bike is overhead cam then the honda xr/xl 125/200 singles manual should help, as the engine is assembled the same, the only difference is the wiring diagram, and the chain adjuster is on the back end of the barrel, and the fact that the advance retard unit is no longer on the camshaft but in the lhs flywheel casing, the rest should be faily easy to follow using the honda manual.
hope that helps.

Cool Re: Honda Clone repair manual ?

I've been researching and that's what I came up with also.My problem was what year range but I found a book to cover that dilemma also. And since you're the XRnut I take comfort in your advice because I am clueless to the differences in motor designs.Wiring no problem I wouldn't need that. That was provided with the manual (Correct English not required LOL) THANX you're A.O.K.!
