Can't see any reason why a 150/70-17 should'nt fit, just have to check when on full suspension compression. To get a better response to your questions, click into the Africa Twin forum, just click forums top right then select Africa Twin, it's the first one. Then click on "new thread" top left and type your question. Lots of expertise here and many people happy to help. Good luck with your trip.

Hope you got to Rhondda but don't worry if you missed it: the members round there are out most weekends. Keep an eye on the ride-out threads, join in the banter and they'll tell you where and when to meet.

Re: New members
Hai guys... i'm T28. Been around as a LURKER and after so much info, i decided to get an AFRICA TWIN. Previously, own a VARA 1k which i had to do it off. and now wanting something relax and easy to handle. On the other hand, i also owe an XR6'r for the pAst 6 years...and in the process of re-building it after the STUPID MECH f*ck up the whole engine frm the con'rod..to the rocker arm. currently my home is what i call Singapore so sparepart will be such an issuie. meantime, cheers to people around here as i notice they are a great bunch of riders...And a great help as well....

A Vara to an Africa Twin, unusual way around, as for the XR6r I believe there is an ointment for that.
