    Carol Nash

ok maybee this is just me being thick but when Carol Nash quoted me for my renewal we agreed the price and then they said that the quote did not include personal injury insurance (unlike car insurance which does include it) and pressured me into paying more.

Does this smell like a rip off to anyone else?

Car insurance does not include personal injury insurance.

If you are deemed to have caused the crash, your passengers and any other drivers involved will have their medical costs paid by your insurer. You will get nothing.

Personal injury/accident insurance is very good idea. It is usually incredibly cheap. I have no idea how much Carole Nash are charging or what the policy offers (lump sums on l or regular payments), so cannot compare.

But it is a common misconception that the insured is covered on their iwn motor policy. They are not. Only third parties (that includes passengers) are covered, not the driver/rider.

Carol Nash charge a brokerage fee, which you should see in the renewal quote. I just had my renewal last month and shopped around for like for like cover. They matched the cheaper quote like for like by scrapping their brokerage fee. They will still get something from the insurer towards their costs but because it falls under general insurance and is not regulated the same as other policies they don't have to disclose the Key Facts cost (commission)

If you are within your cancellation period check around. I think they charge an administration fee non refundable for any cancellations even within the cooling off period
