Bike share - one for Bikesure

Am buying a bike. Might share it with a neighbour. What scope is there for having two owners and equal shares in an insurance policy?

Alternatively, what scope for a club owning a bike and all members being insured?

    or

What scope for a company (I own one) to buy the bike an dinsure it for named or all riders?

Also it will be for off-roading (it is road legal and will have lights and an MOT) so what options are available to me?

Unfortunately we are unable to arrange a policy in more than one persons name or in a company name, although I appreciate that there may be other insurers that can arrange a policy on that basis.

We would need to arrange the policy in the owner and registered keepers name, with any other riders being named on the policy.

At this time we do not have a off-road-specific policy and as a result would arrange a standard policy.

    Cheers,

    Phil

Why can't you just buy it, insure it then put him as a named rider so hw would still have full insurance

Seems to me I insurer it TPFT and he rides it under his own policy and none of us is any worse off, probably for no, or little, extra premium.

How do car sharing schemes work and why cannot bike sharing scheme work the same?

If he is riding it under his own policy, the overwhelming likelihood is that he will only have third party only cover, not fire and theft.

    True.

But that means a completely separate policy for one bike, instead of adding it to my existing multi-bike policy.
