    Bike insurance for extras?

    Hi all,
real simple couple of question .

Do you have cover for the extras fitted [crashbars, satnavs, panniers etc] what did it cost extra? do you expect /have been paid for loss of or damage too?

Do you have cover for clothing/helmets etc included in your policy for own fault accidents? and is there any limit to claim amount.

The reason for these questions is I am sick to the back teeth of getting a good price quote to find out the above aint covered or only for a small amount.
now we all know stuff cost the earth and expect wear and tear etc but being offered £100 compensation for a broken helmet that cost £350 aint on let alone the price of clothing.

And what about all the extras the "manufacturers " deem not standard but we all add as we feel they are needed for the bikes "inteneded" perpose ie "Advenure bike" not a glorified toy is it a case of suck it up or not fit the bits and have a crap time.

rant over now let the common sense prevail, we pay good money and expect to be covered for all eventualities or am I being a prat

Oh one last thing who`s good and who`s bad - Name and shame those bad people.

I have a multibike policy through Aquote everything that i declare on the bike is covered fully that includes crash bars & gps, further to that i have £1000 additions cover for clothing camera's etc. As long as the renew price is pretty similar at the end of next month i will stay with them. I paid £190ish for my 3 bikes fully comp, i don't however know what they are like in the event of a claim and thats th eway i would like it to stay

Adilade insurance (who do IAM) cover extras as part of their standard policy. Worth a call.

I wouldn't pay that. I renewed my insurance last week and dropped the phone on bennetts before i got the quote the amount of stupid irrelevant questions the girl was asking me got on my nerves then she wouldn't quote unless i gave her the date my car and house insurance was due. I said thats got nothing to do with bike insurance she said she couldn't quote me unless she had those dates. I said f**k ya then i'll get a quote from elsewhere and dropped the phone.

So going buy that experience last week i can only assume if you don't have an insured car don't bother trying to get a quote for your bike from Bennetts..
