Action claims - Whealie - one for you....

Fuggin ambulance chasers.... I had an accident in aug 2008 where a **** in a car pulled into the side of my busa knocking me off - damage only to bike no injuries, here we are 2 years later and ACTION CLAIMS still keep phoning me to see if I want to claim for my injuries. No wander insurance is going up again. you should do an article on the amount these ar$eholes are costing us......

mods - can you move to the correct section please

Same here! October 2008. I rather enjoy asking them some legal questions - which, of course, they are completely incapable of answering - and then letting them know that if I wanted to sue anyone, I'd do it myself.

A number of these firms have recently been attacked by the regulators for calling people's mobiles at accidents.

See: Clampdown on texting accident victims - Daily Finance UK

I'll get on to this firm and see what their response is and check with the regulator for a comment.

    Hi Sean
Sorry to hear about the hassle you have had. I work for Action Claims and quite a few of us are bikers here. I have been riding road bikes for 35 years and only this year started riding off-road. Loving the trials bikes - harder than I thought, but brilliant fun.
Action Claims are not the ambulance chaser type of firm - we don't advertise and have never sent text messages. We only work with Insurers and brokers to support their claims teams with repairs, hires and injury claims (bikes, vans, cars etc).
If you send me a PM with your name and number I will get it removed from our system so you won't be called again.
Apologies again for any inconvenience caused.
    All the best

Thanks Sean. I have checked and you were removed from the list following your last call on 4th August. You shoudn't get any more calls now - any problems let me know.

As you can see these people have come back through the forum and to Sean as well as me. But many of my questions remain unanswered.

In a completely separate - and I stress that it is completely separate - story the Insurance Fraud Bureau has just secured its first conviction against a claims management firm. In this case the firm was setting up minor crashes to make spurious claims.

But I wonder what value even genuine claims management firms bring. They are like vultures hanging over road accident victims to pick off the carcass. the momneyt hey make just adds to claims costs and bumps up premiums for all of us.

I dread the day we become like the states, with ambulance chasers trying to get your business.

The Insurance Fraud Bureau has someone providing updates on Twitter. It just received a text message from a firm offering to help with a recent crash. That practice has been banned.
