    month by month insurer/short term

    Hi

I am going to be selling my bike before xmas but the insurance is due in october. Is there any insurance companies that offer monthly insurance/quartely/half year?

I have spoken to my current provider and called a few insurance companies and they are all 12 months and if cancel then have to pay a cancellation fee of £50.

    Anyone know of any?

    Thanks

I looked at it last year when I bought my daughters scooter and for a couple of months it was the equivalent of a years insurance elsewhere so I didn't bother.

if you do go for a year it'll cost you more than your £50 cancellation though, they take of for insurance used etc.

I cancelled my car insurance after 2 months and got £90 back from a £300 premium

I will pay monthly if take a yearly one. I have found a month by month insurer and you are right. They charge a fortune.

Might just sell the bike earlier than anticipated and use the car.

If you are going to purchase another bike just transfer the insurance to that one,it,s the rider thats insured for the bike not the other way round.
Also if you are not going to ride it before you sell it is it covered on your household insurance?
Another way to go is upgrade your car insurance to cover the bike aswell

I'd double check each of those statements before ceasing to insure you bike.
