Broke the orange on (with a little help) so start the new season with something from the winter collection :
Got the new hat yesterday
Get the new bike next Saturday
Happy Days (now firmly on the Dark Side)
Think I'll call her Anubis![]()

RD07a, reg in 2001, Black, heated grips, short screen, Scottoiler, Givi top box and panniers, DataTag, full Riky Cross crash bars, Baglux tank cover, Facet pump, mostly 200 miles to reserve and presently a lot happier since being loved up at Chad's hospital for sick ATs!

Are you happy with your Versus, Dilbert?
One of my riding mates might buy one.
As he's riding an Suzuki GSX1100F (1984) at the moment, I guess almost any change would be for the better...
However the owners seems happy with their Versus.

Good to hear from you again,
NO
But I really like my Versys
I had an orange one for 18 months 21,000 miles and this no longer new one for almost a year and 11,000 miles and apart from the OEM tyres, which are crap they've been great.
Much better road bike than my Africa Twin was and way more reliable, but they are just that, a few guys especially in America have been Ok on gravel roads and the like, but not the bike for a muddy field
The actual output power is about 65 bhp max, but as written in BIKE magazine it holds onto that power almost all the way through the rev range making it very responsive and a very practical bike, 55-60mpg is about the average making it cheap to run with an easy 200 mile + tank range
Ok!
I told my mate what you wrote, and now he's set on buying one!
(That and an actual test drive made him decide for an purchase).
-09 in blue metalic, a brand new left over in the shop (5 900 Euro).
Sadly without the ABS, and I advised him against choosing a bike without ABS, since I feel that ABS is the way to go to keep accident rates down.
Anyway it's the choise of each and his own, thanks for your reply Dilbert!
And hopefully this one will be gone by tomorrow:
It's a real pita to drive![]()

If the exchange rate is still 1.15/ GBP than that sounds about right although there are some cheaper over here, blue is a bit of a novelty colour, not as many of them about, the 2010 model is about £800-1000 more expensive than the 2009 model and frankly isn't worth the difference, accesories are also difficult to get for the 2010 model.
The only common faults are regulator connection block failure on earlier models, easilly sorted by filling with silicon grease to keep the wet out and a tendency for the enormous car size silencer to shear off the downpipe where they connect, but as with any bike swapping this for a decent after market can makes it way cooler anyway and does seem to stop this happening (like clockwork between 8-10,000 miles).
Get him to join up to versys.co.uk like this site its truly international although majority UK based and he will get a warm welcome and friendly chat (as long as he has some sense of humour)
Post once and ask for Dilbert, I'm cracking ahead of most with nearly 6,000 posts on there, mostly drivel, but there you go
