Just a passing thought,
would it be possible/feesable to vistit an army barracks or better still and arm hostpital on route, it would make it feel very personal and be excellent puplicity.

Jones is planning the route and this can be picked up in there, I will reply when we get it finalised.

Re: TLD 2010 Route

I would suppose someone has already thought about it, but would a stop at the National memorial Arboretum at Alrewas be on the cards, dont think it would be that far off any planned route. I know we'resupporting the survivors but what about those that weren't so lucky. just a thought.

Re: TLD 2010 Route

C'mon guys, to be honest STOPPING AT AT LEAST ONE BARRACKS ON ROUTE HAS TO BE DONE! These are the guys we are supporting here! We did the head office of MAWF and even threw in Carol Nash last year - To to not put a stop at a barracks is just not an option in my view. I can prolly ring some old boys and get something arranged and there are enough serving folk on here, (if I'm not mistaken we have a serving 'Tiffy' signed up for the run?), to make it even easier so, all we need to do is find a sutable place en-route or if needed detour to find one. If needed I can do the leg work and make it happen - honestly, the reception we'd get would make you all wonder why we had'nt done it before.

Up to you guys, but to me, its a must have for the trip.............

Re: TLD 2010 Route

Tiffy has now left as far as I am aware, but we do have a serving Welfare Offr doing the run, (FishBone).

Regarding visiting a barracks, timings (ferries etc) will be a bit tight so "wait out" on this. Something is however happening in the background, that will cover the "visit to the military" aspect, we are awaiting confirmation, details to follow.

Re: TLD 2010 Route

Roger that, even a meet-up in a lay-by for some phots would be enough for me, just think its more or less vital for the validity of the thing as we've gone to such pains in the past to involve the 'recipients'.............

Re: TLD 2010 Route

The routes will be announced shortly, we just have to finalise a few details so just be patient with us for a bit.
