I have sent an email today to all participants. Please let me know if you've not received it. It says the following
Dear Riders
Following a planning meeting last night I have been asked to contact you with the following information, it's important stuff and will require a reply so please read the whole email:
The Lowestoft TA Centre, has kindly agreed to open their doors to us, to get some sleep for the night of Friday 18th June. If desired, an evening meal will be provided
For those who wish they can set up a tent at the grassed area behind the TA centre.
UPDATE:
The TA center food will cost £6.00 a head this will include an evening meal & a bacon butty & a brew before setting off in the morning.
Camp beds are no longer available as all of the camp beds that are usually held in a centralised location are in fact not there but somewhere dangerous and not recommended. A limited supply of gym mats is however available.
There is a secure & fenced in, hard standing for bike parking.
Agreed sequence of Events, **please could all riders try to attend the rider briefing**-
17.00hrs –18.00hrs- Arrival, light refreshments will be available.
18.00hrs – Welcome speech / Rider briefing
18.30hrs- Group photo.
19.00hrs- Food / bar open
20.30hrs- hypno show for them in the bar, as a thank you from us, assuming the lads & lassies are up for it.
22.00 hrs- things quieten down so people can sleep.
04.00hrs- Departure
This next bit is important so pay attention. Because this is a military establishment Ash needs to know the following:
If you will be staying at the accommodation
Do you require food
Do you require a camp bed or a tent,
If your not going to use this please let us know
Members of the organising committee have made significant financial commitments to book ferries and accommodation, so far we have received only 40 payments out of the 85 riders who are participating. If you have already paid, thank you very much. If not please note that the balance for bookings and our final payments are due 1st May, therefore the committee has set a deadline for payment for ferries and if you have booked into the bunkhouse for April 25th. If you have a problem making this date it is essential that you contact us so we know that you still want to participate, we do appreciate that this is quite a bit of money to part with so as long as we know we can work around it. If we do not receive payment or contact by the 25th April we will assume that you no longer wish to ride.
We still have some hi viz longest day vest available, if you want these please contact PDsquire
Finally, the just giving site is showing that we have raised £1063 so far which is only 4% of our target, if you have collected money please could you enter it into the just giving site, and could you let us know via the forum how your fund raising efforts are going. Last year we averaged £500 per rider it would be fantastic if we could do the same and more this year.
