    Home early,wish I wasn't......

Well got home safe and sound last night at about 21:00 hours. Bike locked away, boxes will be unpacked today, washing still stinking in the dry bag.
Wish I was still in Ireland to be honest, the mrs wasn't exactly jumping for joy when I pulled up the drive,(came home a day early as Gog had to work today)the kids were all in bed,got the usual "get off me you stink" response to any amorous advances so CRASHING BACK TO NORMALITY HERE!

We took a Loooong way across ireland (GoG,Rockoz,Muddysuvner,Gareth and myself) obviously due to the 125 and L plates situation. We stayed in rosslare the night before the ferry and purely by luck found the most fantastic campsite www.campingstmargarets.ie where we found bowling green flat pitches, every concievable amenity you would ever need including showers and toilets you could eat food off, they were that clean!
After paying 7 euro's each to pitch we were then visited by the campsite owner with two freshly baked (though she had retrieved them from the freezer so we couldn't immediately devour) loaves of bread and a donation to the help for heroes of 50 euro's!!

After getting everyone up at 06:00 hours (that went down well!) we packed away the damp gear (very heavy dew on the west coast) and off to the ferry.
The other side of the channel took the longest, we arrived at gareths house to drop him off at about 16:30+ Loooong way across wales on A roads (Matt eventuall tired of the pace and the yearning in his loins to get home to his child bride so he left us mid route to shoot up the M4) especially when the A48 keeps disappearing and no signs whatsoever and the sat nav keeps wanting to send you down the M4!
After dropping Gareth and collecting Gog's birthday prezzies from his kids in cardiff We eventually got to the M4 and then home at a seriously better rate of knots and split at the M40 where other two shot off to bicester and I shot off up the M40 to the A45 at a suitably urgent 100+ (frightened the crap out of a power ranger who was dawdling along at about 80+ looking at the ladies as he passed them on the M40 obviously trying to impress them with his one handed riding and bike matching leathers) He stopped next to me at a roundabout and I think he took a double double look when he realised I was fully loaded up on TKC's.
Anyway, home safe but wishing I'd spent more time over there, especially reading some of the reports being posted, damn I wish we'd ridden the beaches, why can't we do that over here??
Big thanks to all who i rode with, GoG,Matt and Ollie,Ros on saturday night, and even Gareth (take that test boy,I never want to see another L plate in front of me as long as I live) the guys who organised the TA centre and a lovely garage to sleep in (no snoring,no noise, perfect nights sleep warm as toast) the guys who organised everything at the Bunkhouse and barking mad for the road books and especially PDSquire Who, after a cock up by us (late), arranged for us to go on a later ferry at no extra cost just a transfer, we thought the goose was deffo cooked on that one my learned friend so thanks for your cool headedness and ability to pull a handfull of roses out of a bucket of ****e. And lastly Alpslapper who constantly sent me texts and answer phone messages (which I couldn't reply to as my phone was not being nice to me when we did eventually stop) of encouragement then concern then telling me off cos' he was getting worried.

A great weekend, but like I say every year, never again, getting too old for this ****,I suffered two days of a toothache from hell,36 hours of a semidislocated shoulder and torn muscle and my eyes will never recover from 4 1/2 hours of riding into the sun no visor because of the dead bugs and no sunnies 'cos I lost them on route.
I'm getting old and feeling every bit of it. Can't we have a sponsored sit in a bath of beans next year?

Be careful what you wish for!

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

I stayed there a few years back in the motorhome when we toured Ireland.

it's a great site and dead convenient for the ferry

if you have the time to take a walk along the beach it's usually deserted

Is the piss taking ever gunna stop? I wasn't even going to see Katie, I just wanted to get home, get out of my 4 day old clothes, and have a bath and bit of a rest before work today.

Shut up, I was travelling light

I was bloody lucky, within 20miles of getting home my clutch release bearing failed, took it apart last night and the bearing fell to pieces, if that had happened with the engine running all the bits of bearing would've gone straight into the gearbox
