well that’s me back 1944 miles
too many folk to thank for a great event but must mention..
05 Raggerty ( GSXR 600R )
and
38 Stageonesimmo ( RD07 )
Brian & I told Richard we would look after Karen when his BM was left at the ferry port in Wales stuck in 6th , and she wanted to finish..Well we made it... Lost.. Airborne but the most memorable scene for me was the shadows cast by the low sun we were chasing in the last hour, of a wee girl on an GSXR and the two Africa twins.. going for it !!
Moon light at the point was great too
Spent two days in Ireland, first night treating myself in a pub B & B near the Cliffs of Moher.. Then headed north to Galway and met Lutin, thanks again Tony. Both rode for a few hour east and North as I wanted to go Via Cavan ( Grandfather’s family originate from there ).. Kept going and ended up in Belfast a 8pm.. Bugger forgot ferry next day... just kept riding
Was considering heading back out of the city when I found a B&B.. Real nice folk.. Very interested in the bike.. When I ask about a good place to get food.. They just said 'were doing Pizza.. Have dinner with us !!! even packed me some ham and salad sarnies next day!! Long lie in next day, as I was about 10min from the ferry!!!... Good plan eh..
Waiting at the Ferry and 45 Hot Gloves and 46 Martinreynolds pitched up . They had spent the night camping at the Giants Causeway, the roads in Galway had done for Martyns rear shocker.. (Must admit the roads in Clare & Galway were somewhat beat up and lumpy)
Of the ferry and headed North.. Another fine day so took the scenic route on the coast road to Ayr stopped at spot where a I guy was pointing at big bird out to sea.. Fish Eagles a pair of them .. stayed and took a few pics , then on through Glasgow.. set the Sat nav to interesting and end up going via the Clyde tunnel and on through Loch Lomond got to about 7 o’clock and found a pub to stay ..
Today stayed on the A82 through the Highlands , event took the long way to Fort William via the B863 to Kinlockleven . (Ireland is beautiful but the A82 through Glen Coe takes some beating on a fine day like today ), then Spean bridge A86 ( Loch Laggon looks quite dry,, was full a few weeks ago?? ) then Aviemore for a late lunch , took the B roads and avoided the A9, over the lecht and home for 3.30.. gear sorted, washing in and all packed away.. just got to remember to pick the wife up from the train Station tomorrow
Will post pic when I get them off the camera.. took a load
