    Volunteers for organising 2011

As you may have guessed these events take quite a bit of organising. We have for next year Digital Captive, Boris, Alpslapper and myself to start the ball rolling as XRV site admins but we will need some help.

We have had a great team for 2010, who have done outstanding work which is very much appreciated. I cannot emphasise enough how much of a logistical nightmare 2010 has been, and the team have pulled together and gone above and beyond to make it a success.

In the true spirit of XRV we want to make sure that we give others the opportunity to be involved in organising 2011, so we are calling for volunteers to help us.

So if you want to be involved in organising The Longest Day Event 2011 please post your interest in this thread and if you have any special skills please let us know.

I would love to help but I do not have enough spare time.
I do however feel that the team for 2010 did ( are doing ) a great job and think they should remain.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Some of this years team have already said that they would like to just do the ride next year without getting involved with organising it, and some members who would have liked to have been involved haven't had the chance because we already have a large committee. So to be fair to all it's open to all

Always happy to give any advice on endurance rides but titles and commitees are not for me. If I see something I think I know something about (that's not very often!) I'll just spout it out and you can use it or disregard it folks.

Looking forward to the 2010 and catching up with people and meeting new ones. Ride Hard

I'll run the bank account as it is already up and running.

If anyone does anything before asking Barry how to arrange the IT there should be a slow and painful punishment.

With Russ on board there should be no quality or dispatch issues with merchandise.

The one area we really fell down this year was fundraising. I tried a bit, GOG put in a valiant effort, but this is specialist work.
1997 Jag 3.2 Exec (jangly jangly!); two bicycles; 2001 XL 650 V-1 which is ready for anything, cuts through traffic like a hot knife through butter and just gets better and better and a low mileage Pan European ST1100

I'd be willing to help but if it's a fund raising specialist you're after then that's probably not ging to be me. I could sell water to arabs let alone sand ...

May I offer myself for this? I'm probably not avaliable for the ride weekend, but anything I could do before that I'm more than willing to.
I do have a bit of experience in planning/schedules/routes etc, and can just about handle spreadsheets/mailshots etc.
    Let me know?

    YOU - Route planning

I've still not recovered from our bikes being up to the bars in thick mud and you turning to us with that grin on your face, saying, right lads, the next bit is a little bit tricky

I meant to lock this thread before you saw it

    Too late now

Oh well, a route that Mudwizz is involved in - this is going to be fun
