a couple of guys at work are doing a "pompey to pompeii" (thats portsmouth) on their old vespas. that sounds like a good laugh as theyve got to stay off the autoroutes, but too far for a LD?
Personally, it would be good to have something that wasn't just a motorway / payage slog from end to end. As said above, some thought needs to go into the route, and not just based on road maaping software that assumes no breaks and a continual max speed limit being maintained across the whole route. There's possibilities for all options - well worth exploring. Cerianly the tower to tower can be done like this ( and has options on the ferries) and the 5 / 4 / 3 peaks has great scope for this.

Any idea why the 'current poll' on the home page is for a poll thats now closed about what TShirt to wear instead of an active poll for something like this?
TA700 2010 - Givi full set, Centre Stand, Scotoiller with LubeTube, Honda Tall Screen, Givi Crashbars, OEM Heated Grips, Fenda Extenda, Bar Risers, SSteel Spokes, Arrow Race-Tech DarkLine Exhaust, even bigger smile!!
TLD 2010 - 600 miles, 18 hours travelling, 4 hours sleep and no pint of guinness!! Must go back for that....
Some interesting debate on here. I think that if you want to get a good level of sponsorship sponsors like a good hook. This years east to west was good. Of the current ideas the 2 towers is the one I think sponsors would go for as the most interesting and would give some good publicity pictures.
