There are currently lots of threads going about the Longest Day. The organisers wanted to make it easier for everyone to see what's going on so I have closed the other threads and opened this one so that the organisers can post here everything you need to know if you're taking part, or just interested in what's going on. Please, please keep this topic on thread, and only post questions regarding the organisation of the trip.

The balance on the booking is pending If you are planning to stay there thursday night I need 0 more person to make it happen, or I am going to have to start collecting for my own charity!

Reference The Bunkhouse (Nr Hexham)

I do not require any bunkhouse accommodation as I will be traveling independently (so far) to JOG probably Wednesday/Thursday, charge batteries Friday, and on our way for Saturday.

Me and winxpmaster will be travelling up to JOG(seaview) on the thursday 19th june starting from redcar. if your riding alone and want someone to ride up with we would be more than happy to join you if your travelling on that day. we already have a reserve booking for the thursday night at the seaview guest house. just give us a shout if your interested

Just come of the phone to one of the Macmillan Help centres.
I will pick up tonight 30 Collection boxes,ballons as well as a Banner.
Now Deb and i will be going to the Ace Cafe as well as Rykas on Sunday to see if we can leave one collection box there.I will print off some sponsor forms as well,maybe we can stick them up on a Notice board as well
Maybe we could meet up and i could hand out some more of the boxes?

OK...I'm getting alot of mails from people keen to join up and asking for info...despite all the threads being organised and re-organised we're still missing one with the very basics on there.

So...here goes.

What? Charity motorcycle ride in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, aiming to raise £5000.

Where? From John O'Groats to Lands End.

When? June 21st 2008, the longest day of the year...hence the name

How far is that? It's going to be around 850 miles and expect to take 14 to 16 hours to complete the run. We aim to depart JoG @ 4am to make best use of available daylight throughout the trip.

Where can I stay? You can find info on accommodation at both ends here, and there's also a bunkhouse available for people who wish to stop en-route to JoG and have a laugh with other fellow XRVers. Space at either end is at a premium so get it booked NOW!

How can I donate and collect sponsorship? People can be directed to the official Longest Day Webpage from where they can donate directly or follow the links to the JustGiving page. There is also a paper sponsorship form available to signed up riders - PM me your email address for a copy. There are also Macmillan collection boxes available too.

What about the Decal Sets and T Shirts? All the information you require is here. Please note the deadline of 31st March for these!

How do I sign up to join the ride? Firstly please sign up as a member to xrv.org for ease of communication. Add your name to the event calendar so we can keep track of numbers. PM me for paper sponsorship forms, PM Stormforce8 for Decal sets and T Shirt requirements. All signed up riders will receive a participants pack containing more information on the ride and also Ironbutt UK registration details should you wish to take part in this as well.
