The Longest Day – Basic Information & Participants List

OK...I'm getting alot of mails from people keen to join up and asking for info...despite all the threads being organised and re-organised we're still missing one with the very basics on there.

So...here goes.

The Longest Day.

What? Charity motorcycle ride in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, aiming to raise £5000.

Where? From John O'Groats to Lands End.

When? June 21st 2008, the longest day of the year...hence the name

How far is that? It's going to be around 850 miles and expect to take 14 to 16 hours to complete the run. We aim to depart JoG @ 4am to make best use of available daylight throughout the trip.

Where can I stay? You can find info on accommodation at both ends here, and there's also a bunkhouse available for people who wish to stop en-route to JoG and have a laugh with other fellow XRVers. Space at either end is at a premium so get it booked NOW!

How can I donate and collect sponsorship? People can be directed to the official Longest Day Webpage from where they can donate directly or follow the links to the JustGiving page. There is also a paper sponsorship form available to confirmed riders - PM me your email address for a copy. There are also Macmillan collection boxes available too.

What about the Decal Sets and T Shirts? All the information you require is here. Decal sets are available exclusively to participating riders, T shirts are available to all. Please note the deadline of 31st March for these!

How do I sign up to join the ride? Firstly please sign up as a member to xrv.org for ease of communication. Add your name to the event calendar so we can keep track of numbers. PM me for paper sponsorship forms, PM Stormforce8 for Decal sets and T Shirt requirements. All signed up riders will receive a participants pack containing more information on the ride and also Ironbutt UK registration details should you wish to take part in this as well.

For T-Shirts and Polo Shirts I need you to PM me your SIZE, QUANTITY, and if you want a NAME on the back.

For Decal Sets I need you to PM me your CHOSEN COUNTRY FLAG and BIKE MANUFACTURER.
