LE and JOG "Official" photos

I keep seeing pics of people starting and finishing events at Lands End, infront of the famous signpost and notice that there's a mock sign where the name of the particular event can be added.

Has anyone contacted the relevant parties at LE and JoG to see if we can also do this?

It'd be shame to go all that way and miss out on a photo opportunity, as I'm guessing we'll need special permission (certainly for the one at LE, which we may have to do before all going our separate ways on the Sunday) to park the bikes infront of the sign. From memory the sign at LE is not entirely accessible without potentially riding through the tourist traps of the LE Centre.

I'm thinking an individual shot for each of us with our bike and then a group shot which will probably have to be without the bikes due to numbers/space. Who's had snaps there before, how does it work?

Who's gonna give them a call, or do we have any members nearby who could pop in and ask the relevant questions? I'm up to my eyeballs in it...I dont have the time.

I'v been to LE before by bike and when I got to the signpost the very nice lady asked me if I wanted to have my bike in the picture as well (I was in full leathers at the time so it was obvious how I'd got there) It was just a case of riding through the tourist area and parking the bike next to the signpost.
So there should be no problem (the name on the signpost can be anything you want as long as it will fit in the name slot, and the distance can be anything you choose)
At least it was 4 years ago when I was last there, I can't imagine anything has changed much, but as you said If there is anyone nearby that can check?

Cant help with that one - last time I was at Lands end you just went straight to the sign and that was it - no official photography/er nothing like that - 1879 I believe it was
