Just have to fill up at every opportunity and take it easy if it looks like there might be a shortage.
(Can't imagine it will come to that tho, Liskard might have run dry, but not on Saturday, there were only 10% of garages that had run dry by 9am this morning)

seriously though - if the in flight fuelling does not work, or the XRV petrol tanker breaks down - should we all be thingking about strapping 5 litre jerry cans on the back? - or is this being over cautious?

    I had thought about that.

But I figure with a tank range of around 160 miles (probably a bit more on a long run) thats going to be Minimum 5 refills for the day.
1st one at JOG the night before
    2nd somewhere in scotland
    3rd somewhere around Glagow (M74)
4th M6 Knutsford services (Meeting the wife there for a Coffee)
    5th around Bristol (ish)

So throw in a couple of extra 1/2 tank refills at Mway services, scenic photo ops etc and even with fuel shortages we should be ok

(Hopefully this won't turn out to be the worst plan I'v ever made! Although I do have a long history of getting things like this incredibly wrong!)

I've planned to do that from the start.

5 litres...that should get the Panzer about 1/4 mile towards the next fuel stop

    Re: Fuel

Fuel in wick is 24hr Tesco @ £1.18.9 Tuesday 17th
The station at JOG is privately run not sure on price or operating hours never used it in 31 years of living up here.

Not seen any shortage anywhere in Caithness for fuel

    Inverness has countless fuel stations
