Caffrey - The greatest dog in the world.
When I did a SS1000 ride on my AT last year the oil was at the bottom of the dipstick at the end (it was at the top at the start). It never normally uses any in between services and has been fine since.
It also developed an occasional misfire during the ride which has never been seen again!
The oil light came on in the Midlands which was a shock as I've never needed to top up in between services before. There was nothing showing on the dipstick at all - but adding 1.1/2L put it back to normal.
I think sustained high speed (relative to the @) had this effect on mine.........

I used about 1/3 of a sight-glass full, so less than half a litre if I remember rightly.
I used at least half a litre, but then my service interval is suposed to be 600 miles, hence the pre-oil change at JoG (thanks Yeti for help), and the add extra at LE.

Mine was serviced in October, done 3,000 miles and approximately 65 hrs run time since but hardly used any oil
Checked before we left and level still near where it should be, no oil light came on but I'll check tonight to see how much I've used
