    Longest Day Fuel cost

Just totaled my soggy bits of paper up and the total cost of the up and down was £199.77.
That was for 172.5 litres (38 gallons) of fuel. Average is £1.16 per litre.

So my trusty KTM Adventure 990s over 1907 miles gave me a tad over 50 miles to the gallon.

    And a bloody big smile

best food bill was £1.19 for 3 jaffa cakes...

    Re: Longest Day Fuel cost

I worked mine out at 44 point something or other to the gallon.

Not great, but not much below the average I get anyhow on day to day riding, considering the hammering I gave it down the motorways. In fact, I'm expecting an official letter of appreciation of my riding from at least two english counties, and possibly a scotish one as well. Gulp!!!

    Re: Longest Day Fuel cost

    My total bill was £207.58.
The overall mpg works out at 41.16
However, it doesnt tell the whole story as my mpg up, sight seeing, having fags and chinwags was 48.36
Down, however, with Alpslapper leading the charge was 36.29

Mind it was worth it to blow away 2 KTMs on the M6

The TA does not like sustained motorway thrashing, if it had been A and B roads it would have given better MPG.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

It might of had something to do with the extra windpower exerted by the rider after the release of that cheesburger...

I had to clean my goggles after you passed

And didnt our little duo of transalps smoke a gixxer along the way too, not to mention that sportbike summat or other that tagged along and then dropped out as he couldnt keep up with us
