Do we need a passport to enter Eire and return to England?
I know when I fly to Eire I use my passport as Photo ID but I am not sure if the details collected at checkin are used elsewhere. I have only crossed once on the ferries to Dublin, again I took my passport but cant be sure who required me to produce it.
I will take it with me anyway but the thought struck me that others may get caught out so I thought I would post the question.
In addition to the ferry ticket details I will also take my driving licence, insurance etc and a photocopy of the log book (registration details are usefull if the bike is stolen).
I would not like to see anyone miss out because of some documentation not being available.
Do we have a definitave view.
