    TLD Collection boxes

I just tried to drop one of the collection boxes of at the 127 Diner
I thought since they try to brand themselves as a Bike cafe a bit like the Ace it would be a good place to have a box
But unfortunatly the Owner(?) was not interestet at all.Just ask me to provide some ID,when i tried to explain he told me to "go away" and come back when i have a ID
Shame, after the amount of money we raised last year at Rykas i am sure that place would also do well.
Would have been a nice place to have maybe a Essex meet .At least he could have been polite enough to listen to me
    NOT
They call him "Ze Quiet one"
I listen to what the rice crispies tell me to do

    Re: TLD Collection boxes

There's been a lot of fake charity collections in the last few years hence the need for ID

Even in the shop in SW19 where I worked we had at least 3-4 people a week trying to get us to have charity boxes in the shop, most of them for charities that we hadn't heard of and didn't have a website....

    Re: TLD Collection boxes

    Its a shame

but in their favour, the M-A-W collection boxes should really have been issued out with a cover letter of some sort with an event number for TLD and although the charity number is on the box account details are not.

A collection box with seals cost a pound and any scroat can buy them, site them and pocket the donations, it goes to show how bad times are when no-one is trusted.
Pete please go back with ID and ask again if they would site it they can contact Laura Stentiford at M-A-W.UK for verification on 01276 405081
