    Calling Sarf London TLDers!

    Right, who are you?

Given that I think there are about six or seven of us, it would be a good idea if we could get into the Sarf London Press or the Standard to get some of our generous-hearted townsfolk to open their wallets for the little kiddies.

All I can think of is me, Whealie, Doctorlaw and Robster. Are there any others?

I suppose we would need to get together for a photo within the next week or so.

Look forward to hearing from you.

(I reluctantly accept that if it is a Standard thang, then the Norf Londoners would have to be invited...

Should we aim for a London background or just use it as an excuse for Ryka's Thursday night meet up? Up for either. And stop being so bloody parochial.......

If we can get a photographer down to Rykas this Thursday evening then that'd be great! Should make an interesting piece for one of the London papers for sure.

What about the Bike Mags...Bike, Two Wheels Ony, TBM, MCN? I tried them all last year and they were not entirey forthcoming...worth another go though.

Sounds like a plan I have just been in contact with MCN they sound like they might be interested and I have just sent this over to them will keep you all posted on the out come

My name is Derek Alexander and on the weekend of the 20th-21st June I am taking part in a Charity Motorbike Rally, Starting of in Edinburgh, then to Belfast, Dublin, Cardiff and finishing at the Ace Café in London, all within 24 hours. I'll be joined by 40 odd other motorcyclists. We are mostly members of an on line forum http://www.xrv.org.uk/forums/ but the ride is open to anyone interested in taking part.

We are doing it for the Make-A-Wish-Foundation.
Make-A-Wish grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses. Make-A-Wish was founded in the UK in June 1986 and, since then, they have granted over 5,300 wishes. At any given time, over 20,000 children in the UK are living with life-threatening conditions and their aim is to grant 21 wishes a week by the year 2010. Whether a wish is to be a princess or a policeman for a day, own the latest computer equipment, meet a favourite celebrity or just enjoy some special time away from home with their family, a wish which comes true, brings so much to a child's life and provides memories for the family that last a lifetime.

We are expecting to leave Edinburgh at approx 06:30 on Saturday 20th June and hope to arrive at the Ace Café London within 24hrs, you can visit our web site for more information http://thelongestday.org/ this has the route we will be taking and a list of all riders taking part.

This is the second year we have done this and last year we rode in aid of McMillan Nurses and we raised over £15000 for them.
If you be interested in doing a story on us or would be able to sponsoring us in sum way or even an advert in the forth coming issues that would be very much appreciated.

I can be contacted be e-email at dalexander@sky.com or by phone my mobile no: -

    Re: Calling Sarf London TLDers!

I wrote to Rider's Digest and Dave Gurman said he'd have been more than happy but we have missed the deadline . I've asked if we could get an mention after the fact anyway because I imagine donations can still come in for a while afterwards. Is that correct? Maybe also an idea for next year - he got straight back to me and it didn't seem like it would have been a problem if we had been quicker to think of it. Will keep you posted.
