Just a point of note for all you long distance riders who sometimes carry spare fuel strapped to their panniers, if you intend to carry spare fuel on TLD then please check with the ferry companies that this is OK as I think it might not be (not sure why not).
I've done these ferry routes on many occasions have sometimes been asked if I was carrying additional fuel especially on the P&O ferry ex scotland.

Mmmm, what about my camping stove fuel? I'm hoping a 'what they cant see wont alarm them' kinda strategy.........

I've had this before with boats on ferries, but we were carrying four twenty ltr jerry cans, we said they were empty and would be filled when we arrived at our destination and they couldn't be bothered to argue
