    TLD Route and Satnavs

I think the official route requires us to ride the wrong way down a one way street, so I'll be making my own way.

I figure if the Sat nav does not know where these target cities are signpost might point to Belfast, Dublin, Cardiff and London.

Can everyone please stop panicking about getting lost.

Vader is not on the ride.

    We'll be fine.

I dropped Robster a PM earlier about the route as it takes us along a bus and taxi only road in Edinburgh. There are barriers to stop unauthorised vehicles which no doubt we could get round but it's just not worth the risk what with the cameras etc.

I'm sure he will send out an update soon.

erm Zed got lost last year on account of me and mr tom tom.

he may have calmed down about it by now

good idea about the waypoint postcodes stuart could use those meself

incidently, i was messing about with that new mapping SD you sent me(works like a charm by the way) and i put in the postcode that winxp had got for the mortonhall campsite and it lead to somewhere else the postcode was EH16 6TJ but that takes you a little off-course.

just in case anyone else got the same postcode.. being a little more tom tom wise these days it would be worth double-checking before you set off

I've just checked the wife's tomtom (which has the newest maps) and the above post code takes you as close as you will probably get to the campsite using post code. Certainly following this will take you right past the campsite gate. Maybe older maps are wrong.

On google maps it's here and tomtom agrees. The enterence you want is past the garden centre on Mortonhall gate entering from Frogston road east.

Re: TLD an xrv event we must all rally behind

I have a printout i have done with all my destinations on including the stops for MAW etc..

I'm going to be adding them to my GPS (Garmin Zumo 550) using mapsource so i have the full route planned with all waypoints. If anyone else has a Zumo 550 and would like this when i have done it then PM me and i'll send the file.

Just got to hope mapsource is all still ok as ive not used it for ages
