we are now at £5,000 thanks to Streetcar

Hi All,

We've officially hit the £5,000 mark on the TLD Justgiving page!

I used twitter to call out for someone to come in and get us to the 5k mark, and since I'd tweeted about Streetcar (car sharing scheme) before, they made up the difference.

If you have a bike, but no car (like me) Streetcar is an excellent service. They have cars all around London and it's a lot cheaper and practical than renting a car or owning one (if you don't use your car that much).

Now let's see if we can hit £10,000!

I am a member of Streetcar but have never used it as I have never felt the need for a car. They rang me up asking me to at least try it, but I couldn't think of anywhere to go in a car, so I haven't yet.

I joined originally because I needed a van for my house move, and it worked out cheaper (and easier) than renting one...

Have since used the service for quick trips to Ikea when I needed more than fitted in my top box (it's a big box, but not that big).

Also, next time the missus is over, plan to use it for a weekend getaway (cheaper than buying her all the kit for riding two-up, and her clothes for a single night won't fit on the bike anyway).

Cars are all new and clean, and petrol's included, so that's all fine (can you tell I'm a fan?).

The response to the twitter post made me a real convert though. Very cool!
