    Led Valve caps

does anyone know the law with regards to led valve caps. with winter approaching and the dark mornings on the way, i am looking for a way of making myself more visible to the communters. Have seen the led valve caps on ebay but just wanted to know if i am risking a pull from our friends in blue

Hi Barry Just a word of warning , using these led valve caps puts strain on the valve stem where it joins the tube. I read this on a couple of different motorbike forums do not fit them .fw750x

As a car driver, as i'm sure you probably are too, nothing beats a big, fat flourescent luminous overcoat over your normal weatherproof kit to see a motorcyclist.

Streetcred perhaps out the window, but worth it my opinion.

Now the night are drawing in I always chuck one one.

    LED valves

I have one on the front. The force on the valve is nothing. The centripetal force is far far far less than the air pressure in the tyre. Or look at it another way, you think of the punishment these wheels are designed to take!

I have no idea if it works because I don't lean down to have a look!

Another option of the hi-vis rim tape, which I have thought about, but I would start to look a bit granddad at this rate....

    Wear these

I suspect if you want to be seen at night and not want to be pinched for the Led valve caps, try wearing these as well

ISTR that flashing is illegal and there is limitations on the colours but I can't remember the details, though I think it's less restrictive on bikes than cars. Start reading here and get very bored: http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2005/20052559.htm

I've got a set of them but I'm not convinced that they are particularly visible so I stuck some retroreflective tape on my bike instead.
