    Locks on ZEGA (Touratech) Panniers

Could any one tell me the dimensions of the intergal locks on ZEGA (Touratech) Panniers, also what is the attachment system (e.g. 4 hidden pop rivets, or what number attachment points)? I cant find this info on the touratech web site.

Not sure about integrated locks, but I got a set of 4 brass padlocks from B&Q for about £10 which have 1 key and I've velcro'd them to the sides to stop them bashing around!

Cheap but should work fairly well.

I've just fitted a set to my panniers. Pretty straight forward if youve got some basic engineering skills ie filing !! and a round file ! and a power drill and 3mm drill bit.

The integral locks are slightly larger that the "turny screwdriver/coin thingys" that come standard. My procedure for changing them was.

    1) Remove the "turny scre.........." standard locks by drilling out the rivets.

    2) Using the template supplied with the lock kit (It sticks over the hole using the rivet holes to align) file out the hole to the template.

    3) Fit the new locks. They are locked in place by a spring circlip on the back.

Allow about 20 mins - 30 mins per lock (X4) under two hours. but don't rush . REMEMBER !!!! it's easy to file metal off , it's feckin impossible to file it back on if you overdo it !!!

If you fancy a trip to "an Island somewhere in the Clyde" I'll give you a hand and the tools. and elastoplasts for the filed fingers !! and a cuppa.

thanks for the advice But actually i am not going to be using them to lock my panniers..( i have alpos with locks) ... that is why i need the dimensions. they belive it or not are the onlykey locking draw hasps (toggle latches) that i can find that i can get keyed a like and are under 50£ for 4 and under 80£ for 6 !
so if you know of anywhere else i could get a set that would be grand! if not could grab a ruler and measure them please, draw lenght to please.

Xander , I managed to get away from the thought police earlier than expected , so managed to get some quality "shed" time and stripped out a lock to measure. Bear with me here - as an Engineer I find it easier to describe things using drawings rather than words, but since i have no facility to scan drawing or pictures ....here goes.

The hole that is created in the Touatech hasp to take the lock is shaped like a traditional running track ie two straights and two corners. The distance between the two straights is 13mm and the length at the broadest point (between the two curves) is 16mm.

The Touratech hasp is made of material 1mm thick , but the distance between the collar of the lock body and the locking arm looks like it could accomodate material thickness of approx 4 mm ie lock two plates of 2mm together.

I hope you can visualise and hope this info helps.

Let me know if you need anything more..... cheers.
