    Single Seater

Anyone know if there are any special reg's, etc for single seat bikes? I assume the seat has to be only big enough for the rider and the rear pegs have to be removed, anything else?

And is the insurance any cheaper? or do they go the other way and say it's more expensive because it's a racer?

You don't need a rear chain guard for the MOT if it's a single seater.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

    single seater

    Crikey,

I've never had a chain guard on my @ and it's sailed through two mot's.
Am I breaking the law ? Will insurance pay up etc ?

Guess I'd better put a link in the wanted section

Won't be leaving this off, once had a chain snap on the M6 at 80mph, it bent the 2mm thick steel guard out at 90 degrees to the swingarm, flailed about and took a lump out of the gearbox
I will probably end up getting an alu' one made as I don't trust the plastic guard to do anything more than retain the chain oil.

I never had a rear chain guard on my last AT and no front or rear at all on my DR (front packs with mud). It passed the test regularly but shouldn't have. It was the tester who told me I didn't need a rear guard if I had no rear footrests, just for my information. He's a good bloke.
