What about when they get wet? Do they stay wet for ages and you end up being sat on a wet sheep for 200 miles?

Depends. Ikea apparently more so than something from a real sheep because the latter are often a bit greasy and you can shake them out pretty well.

This according to a mate of mine who took one of the latter on trips to the north cape and to iceland. Which really aren't the dryest places around.

Bought one on the Col du Galibier on the way home from the Stella - sore arse and a long way from home......

Initially it was luuurvely, sore arse back after only 1/2 hour. Makes a fab pillow when camping, otherwise not worth it IMHO.

Doesn“t really mater if they“re good or not, or if they get soaked when it rains or not

No travel bike really looks the part without it, the smelliest and dirtiest the better, it“s like not washing yer bike so that it looks well used

They“re cool, in a rugged adventurer, Indiana Jones sort of way

Oh please don't tell me style over content has even infected the manly world of adventure riding Had one. Didn't get on with it, so binned it. Only one cure for sore arse syndrome and thats three hours spent rubbing your buttocks on a cheese grater, then into a hot briney bath If your bum can't stand a day in the saddle after that, buy a car

Or get your seat rebuilt properly.

(Still have to do that sometime, both the dommie and the GS. Had a few days back on the dommie last week, and I'd kind of forgotten how utterly spectacularly rubbish the stock honda piece is by now... Ouch.)
