    PDA fitting suggestions/ideas please!

Does anyone use a Pocket PC for navigation on their bike? If so, i would appreciate (affordable) mounting/weatherproofing solutions anyone might have. I intend to use it with 1:50000 memory maps alongside my TomTom rider.

I currently have it in the top clear bit of my tank bag which is not ideal to read on the move.

    Thanks in advance

P.S. The model is a Mitac Mio P350.

check the width of the pda. I use a boxit case and handlebar mount

but i use a orange spv c500 running tomtom mobile.

if your pda is too wide I,m sure there is a botch/fix to use this. perfect for what I wanted and only 24 quid for the pair

Boxit make a waterproof case for PDA's, with a screen that you can tap through. Try having a look for them

Thanks for the advice and suggestions fellas. I can't seem to find anything big enough from Boxit - seems to be just for mobile phones although I might be looking in the wrong places.

Aquapac do a waterproof non-rigid sleeve. But i'm not paying 20-odd quid for a glorified ziplock freezer bag (which won't mount on my bars!)

I could get a bomb proof Otterbox but would need to remortgage the house....

    .... the search continues...

I did this for my Ipac 2210 using an Otterbox, which I got from a local divestore for about £20. The PDA receives GPS data from a solar bluetooth receiver on the flyscreen. I'm able to run Tomtom 5, or Memory Map 1:250,000 OS maps for off-roading, which I find superb.

It includes a 12v to 5v DC convertor (torn out of a cigar plug adaptor) and a stereo audio feed to the Autocom. This pic shows the bare bones, which are readily available bits.

The whole lot is secured to the bike with a standard RAM mount and is very tough.

Thanks VSH - it has given me some ideas. There's a dive store I know which might do an Otterbox equivalent. Failing that, I might have to go with Xander's Touratech options (although I hate splashing out their over-the-top prices).

I guess you get what you pay for in the end.
