Thread: Insurance (again)

    Insurance (again)

So I've just bought boboneleg's Transalp, well I haven't paid him yet but you know what I mean, so now I'm getting confused looking for insurance.

Have read through the various threads and got various quotes online but I'm struggling to decide! It seems very difficult to compare the quotes as they all seem to have differences; excess, cover, extras etc. Do I just go for the cheapest, so far A-Quote (broker I think) or trust one of the names I recognise from the mags, Bennetts/Carole Nash. To make life even more confusing there seems to be variation between quotes done at different times from the same insurer.

Does it make any difference going through a broker, especially if you need to claim, rather than going direct??

    Any advice welcome.
    Cheers

Just run a couple more quotes and e-bike come out at £168 with £175 excess, whilst Bennetts come back at £108 but with a £350 excess...

Off to try a couple more now.

I had a quote from e bike and it had an excess that I didn't like - it was easy to change on the screen and the quoted figure with half the excess was the same... so I bought it
I agree though, that until you claim, you have no idea what you have...

Ebike wouldn't insure me, I found that Bennetts was cheepest for me, easy to arrange online.

Carol Nash are good because they are a broker as such but they are a biker company primarily and you get European breakdown cover included.

Carole Nash do sound good but they come out at £175 whilst the cheapest quote is around £100, not sure if it's worth the extra...
