DataTool System 3, charging battery dilema

I need to charge the battery on my AT. I have always been told to remove one of the battery leads, as the charging can damage bike/car electronics.

But the problem I have, is when I disconnect the battery, the alarm goes off. I read the book, and discovered service mode, however the thing still bleeps every 15 seconds.

I don't want to overnight charge, with the alarm bleeping every 15 seconds, keeping the whole estate awake, and advertising that there is something worth nicking in my Garage..

What do other owners do?

I've never read that and my charger has a lead for permanent connection to the battery.
I guess as long as you don't have a charger that's going to shove a load of current through on like a max boost thing you're going to be ok.

get your self an optimate or even the datatool charger..they both amount to the same thing keeping the battery charged and maintained
